Sr. Roberta's Summer Message

I give thanks to my God always, remembering you in my prayers, as I hear of the love and the faith you have in the Lord, Jesus. (Phil. 1:4)

Dear Parents,

Thank you for the past 10 months that I have been with your children at St. Peter the Apostle School. It has been a time of growth and change. TOGETHER, in only a year, we have made some astounding changes and developed some wonderful new programs. Let us reflect on just a few:

• We have completed a ‘State of the Art' computer lab and network system and increased technology in the classroom with the use of the SMART BOARD.
• Established a program for social justice activities and volunteer projects, such as SOCCKS, and our sister school in Rwanda.
• Our Terra Nova Scores have increased. We can be proud that the Composite Scores for each grade are above the 74th National Percentile.
• Students have placed First in the Engineering Component of the State Science Fair and the State Optimist Club Oratorical Contest.

This is only the beginning! Many other improvement plans are in developmental stages, and are close to coming to fruition:

• We are developing the Arts Program in the school, first by introducing musical instruments to our curriculum.
• We intend to focus on the School Science Program and increase the use of our Science Lab, to research Robotics and the First Lego Program.
• We intend to continue our awareness of the environment with our EARTH MONTH Projects... to reuse and recycle, clean up, and beautify our church and school grounds.

TOGETHER, as a school and parish, we have much to be proud of. Hard work and team effort have enabled us to grow and help those around us. Thank you to all of my teachers, students, parents, and parishioners for all of your help in making our first year TOGETHER such a great one! I wish everyone a very safe and fun filled summer, and look forward to seeing everyone again at the start of our next year TOGETHER!
