We are working on listening, singing, pitch, and rhythm. Using 8 pitched handbells, the students are practicing rhythms and playing songs. In the upper grades we are reviewing Music Theory.  We are starting with Music Dynamics. Additionally, each student has been asked to compose 2 measures of music in 4/4 time.  Students will play their compositions in class.  As we learn more Music Theory, students will apply the theory to their original compositions. Throughout the year, Middle School students will be learning about:

  • Music Theory - The staff, The music alphabet, The Treble Clef, The Bass Cleff, Dynamics
  • Music Composition
  • Music Appreciation
  • Music History
