Welcome to 8th Grade Social Studies! 

 We are now studying the decades following the American Civil War, including Westward Expansion and the 2nd Industrial Revolution.  Your child has been assigned a Family History project for this unit.  There are three major projects/papers for this unit.  Please check with your student for further information. 

The textbook we use for the 8th grades has an online component.  Your child has been issued a username and password that will allow him/her to access the Social Studies textbook online at http://my.hrw.com or you may have to use https://my.hrw.com.  There are a few plugins necessary for your child to fully access the account--these plugins are completely reliable...I have them on my school computer and my home computer.

I generally assign three to four nights of homework for 8th Grade Social Studies.  Please check your child's planner daily to verify any homework assignments.
